Set Your Calling Free: Define Your Success

Set Your Calling Free: Define Your Success

When God qualified success in speaking to Joshua, Joshua 1:8, I'm sure it's simply because success isn't always success as He would describe it.

There is good and there is bad, or not so good success. His success is defined in that verse as one that comes by daily and nightly meditating on God's word in order to observe the Word to do according as it is written therein.

It means success can be produced by not following God and His word. And that's evident. Many of the richest and the wealthiest of this world do not believe in Christ and many of them who do can't say they got their wealth by following strictly the Word and the Spirit of God...

Many callings have been trapped in this phenomenon. Whatever a person defines success to be becomes the target of his pursuit. He is going to commit all he has as possessions and potentials, both tangible and virtual into achieving that.

Many gifts and callings are trapped in being used as tools to achieve the kinds of success not recognised by God but in the name of God...

Today, what the man Jesus Christ had as possessions while here on earth matter only a little compared to the fulfilment of His purpose as the Lamb of God crucified to take away the sin of the world and so give to the world the way of salvation...

Jesus Christ was such an enigma that the people were ready to make Him a political king. He didn't also have to die, He had the choice of not upsetting the religious leaders of His day to avoid being killed, He could have avoided all the liberating reformation He preached to stay alive and even if He didn't, He had the power to escape the death... But He wouldn't because good success to Him was to shed His blood and give His life for the salvation of mankind...

Good success is fulfilling divine purpose and to that we have been called and sent forth with gifts of grace to accomplish.

But like Judas Iscariot we may decide to use our privileges and potentials to pursue success as defined by the world and not as defined by God's purpose. And callings so abused get trapped and in danger of not being fulfilled...even if it is used to achieve worldly wealth, accolades and awards...

But when we redefine success and embrace the good success syndrome by following God's purpose and passion and pursuing it with all potential and power within us we achieve that kind of success that preserves those who have them.

All of success to Mary was to give birth to Jesus. She did and she's blessed forever among women.

All of success to Mary Magdalene was to pour her expensive jar of alabaster oil on the feet of Jesus to fulfil the requirements of burial preparation for Jesus Christ and forever where ever the gospel is preached she'll be remembered...

All that Simon of Cyrene was born to do was to help Jesus Christ carry His cross on the way to Golgotha even if he was compelled to do so...that was success...

All that Joseph the Arimathean was born and was made influential to do was to ask for Christ's body and to provide a tomb where it would lay till His resurrection on the third day...his becoming influential and affluent wasn't his success but the fulfilment of His calling to use that to preserve the body of Christ in death till resurrection...

Many have lost the essence of their callings as they use them to pursue the error of world defined success...

You must set Your Calling Free to achieve divine purpose and pleasure... Their in lies your success...

Let's gather to pray this Saturday... Seeking God's face and to leave with our callings ready to fly into achieving it's divine purpose... Don't miss it, if you are in Lagos, don't miss it... If you can travel over, do...God's visiting...

Good day!
