The Belt of Truth

The Belt of Truth

[My Offline Bible] Ephesians 6
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

The believer can't do without spiritual warfare. There are forces we have to contend with daily and the battle can't be fought for long by proxy. A day comes when the believer would have to stand with his or her own whole armour of God to contend against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in heavenly places.

David had to outgrow catapults, slings and clubs, in fact, after knocking Goliath down, he needed a sword to cut off his head. He had to graduate, just as he had to from being a dependent citizen who had to be protected to one to fight and protect others via the challenge of Goliath.

So the believer must grow from such that others would have to pray for since he can't pray, or one who had to be covered since he is a child.

Even if we can not actually totally outgrow being prayed for or with, we get to that point where we can survive even if those who to watch with us for as little as an hour are sleeping or dozing off like the disciples did to Christ.

Bottom line is that every believer would have to put on the whole armour of God by himself or herself and stand against the wiles of the enemy and having done all to stand.

One very important part of the armor is Truth. Someone said that's the pill we proscribe but wouldn't swallow. Meanwhile it is the belt among the armor.

Liars won't escape judgment. But the flip side of lying is that of people who aren't strong enough to face truth. Many a times we rather keep quiet because it could cost us like it did John, the Baptist.

Since we aren't speaking lies, nobody should tell us the truth is an hypocritical position that keeps people in bondage. You shall know the truth and the truth you know shall make you free, that's Jesus' stand, that's Christianity.

Every bondage, either spiritual, political, financial, religious or whatever the genre is maintained by falsehood, secrecy and darkness. We are children of light and we have the strength to face the truth and shine the light at all cost.

While meditating on this subject, I read that Nike terminated Manny Pacquaio's contract because he spoke against gay culture. He may have lost money and popularity among some groups of people but he has just gotten free by the reason of truth. Every dime he made from keeping quiet against sin, would hurt him deeper than the credit it added to his wealth.

But lots of so called Christians have sold out their conscience and have become hypocrites and wimps who can't stand because they had lost their belt. The strength that holds up their waist line to carry the weight of their gait. They have become like the woman Jesus healed of the spirit of infirmity, bent twice over who couldn't by any means hold herself up straight.

How can you love Christ and hate truth. But that's the way of the world. When Marion Jones came out to confess how she had used banned performance enhancing drugs to win laurels on the tracks, she was sent to prison for telling the truth and stripped of all her medals, but she was free even in prison while many like her are walking free but imprisoned within them. I pity such people living under such bondages. The truth is available to set you free and buckle you up to stand.

The world may vilify you for holding up, but they'll never know the freedom you enjoy for speaking the truth.

When you can't bear the truth, you suspend the revelation for freedom. Jesus couldn't tell the disciples certain things which the Holy Spirit later came to teach because they were not able to bear the truth.

You may have reasons to keep keeping quiet on truth or to keep avoiding facing the truth while you just play safe to enjoy certain levels of acceptability, popularity and financial or material benefits, but don't forget stolen water is sweet but it soon turns to gravel. You may look good physically but the forces we have to contend with aren't ignorant of your handicap and vulnerability in spiritual warfare...your belt is missing..

There's nothing hidden that would not be revealed... [My Offline Bible] Luke 12
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.

When you haven't developed the capacity to hear and bear the truth, liars gravitate towards you, forming a false line of defence that won't stand in the evil day!

Let me close my long treatise by what apostle Paul said...

[My Offline Bible] 2 Corinthians 13
7 Now I pray to God that ye do no evil; not that we should appear approved, but that ye should do that which is honest, though we be as reprobates. 8 For we can do nothing against the truth, but for the truth.

Conscience, said a wise man, is an open wound only truth can heal it...

Build your capacity to accommodate truth no matter how bitter or how fearful the possible consequences may be... It sets free! Keep your belt intact don't lose or loosen it! Your victory depends on it against the evil day!

Good morning
