Doctrinal Stability

Ministry Wednesday: Doctrinal Stability

There is a need to strike the balance between spiritual development through increase knowledge and being doctrinally stable same time.

We owe our spiritual transformation to the renewal of our minds by God's word. God's knowledge via the revelation and the tutelage of the Holy Spirit using the various channels provided, brings corresponding changes into our lives as we begin to share divine perspectives, ideals and character that lead to differences in our lives.

There is nothing we can do without God's word and the revelation knowledge of God by the Holy Spirit. We understand that revelation is progressive, there are things we may be too dull in hearing now that we would be able to chew later on and as we grow in the things we already know, other things will come clearer: we need to be open to them.

But under this also hide errors and heresies. There are winds of doctrines that will want to sway us to and fro from Christ and His core message and expectations.

Hebrews 13
8. Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
9. Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.

There are divers and strange doctrines released by the dark kingdom to carry the believer about like a ship being tossed by strong winds. Deceitful men lie in wait to deceive and to draw disciples after themselves and to devour like ravening wolves.

Ephesians 4
14. That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
15. But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

The goal of Christ is clear, to raise disciples after Him. Which means they believe Him and live lives like their Master preaching same things. Our stability must be drawn in our knowing Christ as Lord and as one to follow and to emulate in our love for God, our Father.

We are on a journey of transformation from humanity to divinity, to be conformed to the image of Christ, who is the express image of the Father, in a kingdom that shall never be left to another people, where Christ is King and Lord, who must reign till all His enemies be made His footstool, a kingdom that would eventually be handed over to Jehovah, so that He can be all in all in a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells without rivalry.

This is the core of following Christ and the essence of our pursuit of being like Him and it is our stability in this end time against all sorts of scoffers and their strange doctrines.

We should remember that we have been warned that the days are coming when the promise of His coming will become blurred and would be hard to see by the working of scoffers...

2 Peter 3
3. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, 4. And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

We should be aware that that prophecy is near to fulfilment and we should then take heed to what Apostle Paul told the Colossians

Colossians 2:8 Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ. NLT

Stand strong in these last days...Let your heart be established in grace!

It's a great day!
