Our Heavenly Citizenship

Our Heavenly Citizenship

It's amazing how we got to the point of being either of Apollo or of Paul in a revival of segregational denominationalism in the body of Christ. While being committed to Christ with a focus derived from a local church is quite needed, that should be pursued with caution so as not to create division in the body. The truth is that many of us are already too deep to even recognize that there is an anomaly in the pursuit of sectional membership in the body of Christ.

The new creation and the process of the new birth that brought about the former were targeted towards creating a new breed of people, a new race different from the races already here.

With sins forgiven, a new heart and a new spirit given, with the laws of God written on the tables of the heart and the Holy Spirit given to indwell this recreated temple, the person becomes different from who he or she used to be and different from whatever race that brought him or her to life.

This is being born again as different from being born of the flesh. He that's born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

This is the promised new covenant for the new Kingdom and a people different from those who have existed before. This is the only way into the new Kingdom where the will of God is done with the power of God.

[My Offline Bible] Galatians 3
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

[My Offline Bible] Colossians 3
10 And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him: 11 Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.

[My Offline Bible] 1 Corinthians 1
22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God.

[My Offline Bible] Galatians 6
15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

This is the protocol of the Kingdom of God. There isn't any segregation based on any earthly difference within the body and the Kingdom of Christ. Christ is not divided. You are my brother and sister, we are members of same church no denomination and no earthly nationality can separate us, we are citizens of God's Kingdom and members of His family!

It is good that our consciousness towards our citizenship of the Kingdom become stronger. It is clear that we sometimes hold our membership to our denominations, our citizenship to our earthly nations and so on more importantly than our citizenship of heaven.

We pay more attention and we show more commitment to these earthly attachments than to our citizenship of heaven. These earthly relationships are more real to many of us, even if they often betray our trust and commitment than the citizenship we have in heaven.

[My Offline Bible] Ephesians 1
5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, 6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.

We must make the consciousness of our citizenship of God's Kingdom stronger, we must be conscious of our pilgrimage here and it's transient nature. That's the only time we can enjoy the fullness of what the kingdom provides. We have acceptance in the kingdom of God.

[My Offline Bible] Ephesians 2
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father. 19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

[My Offline Bible] Philippians 3
17 Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an example. 18 (For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

The New King James Version and other versions rendered the word conversation in verse 20 as citizenship...

We are citizens of heaven, we are the earthly part of the heavenly family of God, members of the family and Kingdom of God and we have responsibilities, we have our rights and our privileges based on how powerful and superior our Kingdom is in taking care of her citizens... I won't trade this with any lesser arrangements except such is actively promoting this... To this end we were given the new birth and the new creation...

[My Offline Bible] Ephesians  3
14 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

We were not redeemed, recreated or reborn by the Spirit of God to enter into an earthly kingdom or a religious denomination but to enter into the kingdom of God...and to enjoy the Power of God in doing His will and pleasure...

Meditate on these child of God...

Good morning, Happy Sunday! Compliments of the season!
