The Breaking Point

Monday Motivation: The Breaking Point

2 Corinthians 1
8. For we would not, brethren, have you ignorant of our trouble which came to us in Asia, that we were pressed out of measure, above strength, insomuch that we despaired even of life:

9. But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:

10. Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;

Every thing is made for purpose. Purpose determines the necessity of the existence of a thing. The success of anything is judged by its ability to fulfil the reason why it was created. And so is every man and every business or endeavor in life.

Now, for anything or anyone to fulfil its purpose, it must be made to last till it fulfils the purpose. If it goes bad before it satisfies its purpose, what use is it?

Potential, for instance, is important in the fulfillment of purpose. Everything made to fulfil purpose must be equipped to deliver that purpose. The potential of the object is what gives it the capacity to deliver expectation. When potential necessary is depleted, the purpose can no longer be achieved except it is restored to the level needed to achieve purpose.

So, everything must endure till it achieves its purpose otherwise it'll only achieve purposes below the original set goal by the manufacturer.

Every material has its breaking point. Everything has its elastic limit beyond where it breaks and get spoiled. Every food has its shelf life before when it's no longer good for purpose.

We each represents a purpose. There is a reason why we are here. Each of us also have an elastic limit, which we must never cross before we eventually fulfil our purposes in life.

Durability speaks of the ability to last the duration earmarked for our purposes to be fulfilled. Ordinarily, the manufacturer makes sure we are made durable enough to achieve purpose for as long as expected.

But all these are, barring abuse. Abuse is when a thing isn't used for its purposes. It eventually spoils the material. The manufacturer didn't create his product for abuse. Even if certain abuses were envisaged at design, you can't tell how abusive users and others would be and how far such will go to spoil a product.
We are all exposed to abuses when we subject ourselves to things our Manufacturer didn't plan us to be exposed to. There are conditions that brings us faster to breaking point. There are living conditions both physical, spiritual, social, psychological and so on that don't help our durability. They bring us closer faster to our breaking point to the end that we may break before we could achieve all we were made to deliver.

It is the same with relationships, with health, with finances, with development, with growth, with businesses etc.

Success is nothing without sustenability. Sustenability is developed to avoid the abuses that predispose a thing to being spoiled or damaged. Abuse leaves nothing the same, be it business, health, relationship, persons or other things. Abuse is a spoiler, it is a breaker. Nothing brings a thing to its breaking point faster than abuses that destroy.

Ask yourself today, what are the things that would bring what you have going for you closer and faster to its breaking point? It may be an environment, an attitude, a behaviour or lifestyle, it may be carelessnes or other bad habits.

After you have identified them, go on and deal with them to preserve that thing you have going for you.

Eventually, everything will have to reach its breaking point. But it must have achieved purpose and left behind things to move forward with. Nothing lasts forever but everything should be durable enough to last its use for purpose before it becomes useless. Everyone has enough strength of material to last the distance earmarked for him or her on the journey of purpose, each only needs to build a sustainable business, life and environment to avoid abuse that breaks before time.

Think deeply about this and remove everything that may stop you from achieving purpose. Anything that pushes you faster towards your breakpoint should be avoided or discarded, they aren't good for purpose, they won't help you succeed, they make a mess of your sustenability, in fact such things aren't sustenable, avoid them before they break and destroy.

God bless you and Have a great week!
