The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

The Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation

[My Offline Bible] Proverbs 4
7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

One of the greatest request a child of God should place before God this year is that request for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God. Child of God, you are going to need Him.

Ignorance is the breeding place for slavery and re-entanglement of the believer. You can't build faith in ignorance, you can't build confidence in ignorance, grace is limited in ignorance. Ignorance makes you vulnerable, the wicked, many of them on the prowl these days, seek the ignorant to take advantage of. The ignorant has no defence, the ignorant is destroyed for lack of knowledge. Fools die.

Freedom is the most precious thing in God's service. God wouldn't take the service you render under the slavery of Pharaoh like He would take the one rendered in freedom even if in the wilderness, the later is of a higher quality. But how do we enjoy freedom in ignorance?

Jesus said, if you continue in my words then are you my disciples in deed, and you shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free...

John 8:31-32New King James Version (NKJV)

31 Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

When in ignorance, fetters fester...it is in ignorance that lies, errors, deceits and deceptions congregate and celebrate. The chains of bondage aren't made of metals in the furnaces of coal or gas, because they won't be strong enough, they are made of these locks in the furnace of ignorance and only the truth is stronger!

Ignorance is compounded to get stronger when not in understanding. 'Do you understand what you read?' was the question Philip, the evangelist asked the Ethiopian Eunuch who traveled all the way to Jerusalem to worship, reading the book of Isaiah without understanding a word of it.

The slave master doesn't care how far you have travelled, he doesn't care how big your Bible is, or how religious or devoted you are, so long you don't understand what you are reading the chains remain as strong as ever. Nothing is more dangerous than a man with a large volume of knowledge without understanding it... Such soon becomes a major tool in the hand of slave masters to enslave more people... They are such that were described as ever learning but never coming to the knowledge of the truth, but having a form of godliness while denying the power thereof...the Power here doesn't mean the power to do miracles but the power of be totally like God both in character and in charisma. Godliness isn't just about doing miracles but about living it!

This is why we need the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God and of Christ. The essence is that we may know the reasons why He called us into His kingdom, the riches of the glory of the inheritance we have in the saints and the exceeding greatness of His power towards each one of us who believed and not to some selected few... Ephesians 1:17-19

We shouldn't be deceived on these three grounds. We shouldn't be deceived concerning all that God had in mind when He planned out our salvation and redemption, we shouldn't be deceived in the area of our inheritance in God and with Christ, we shouldn't be deceived in the area of our access to the power of God... These are areas where present day religious slavery makes great inroads into the body of Christ. Ignorance in these areas is key to enslavement.

The child of God would need to spend time praying and asking for the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of God as written in Ephesians 1:17-23. Pray it over and over and believe God...

Stay in God's word, imbibing the teachings of Christ and of those who understood it in the Epistles. Continue in His teachings in the face of whatever contradiction of men, of religion and of experiences, in there lies the truth that establishes liberty and freedom.

The liberty that's in Christ is released when we continue holding on to His teachings, in there, the truth that makes us free is hidden and the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in His knowledge translates the truth into our freedom!

Good morning...

New Year Resolutions

New Year Resolution

Times and seasons are part of the strategy God put in place to manage the world and those within it. Every season is expected to have its fruit and so we plow in hope expecting to harvest the fruit.

Part of the plowing is to set in place visions and dreams. We want to get better in our endeavors and also get better renumeration and so move forward in whatever we do in the new season. So we plan and pray expecting new strength and wisdom to do better and achieve more.

And we have promises to that effect, the path of the just is as a shining light of the sun shining more and more to the perfect day and we need to ride on the back of such promises to make the most of every season.

It is also quite commendable that people desire to work better on their characters. People desire to get better in conduct somewhere from within them but are they ready to do all it takes to get better?

When it comes to living righteously above sin in holiness, godliness and Christ likeness, no person has the capacity within him or her to do so. Mere determination and strong will aren't strong enough to attain to the lifestyle that pleases God.

Christ came because it was not possible to please God under the former covenant and had to shed His blood and died so that our sins could be totally washed away and create the channel for mankind to get back to God. In accepting that arrangement the Holy Spirit is given to us to make sure we do not revert back into that lethargy of disconnect with God.

Now we are here and man is free to yield to God to enjoy His provision. The question is if we would yield. It is in yielding to the Holy Spirit and His leading as He orders our steps that we enjoy victory over sin.

To whom we yield our members to obey, to such we are servants...yielding to the Holy Spirit we become instruments of righteousness unto Holiness. We can't be holy by our own strength, how can we pass God's exam without Him? If we could do it, the new covenant wouldn't be needed: the working of the new covenant puts the Holy Spirit in the centre of it all...working closely with the recreated spirits within us, writing His laws upon the tables of our hearts and waiting for us to follow as He leads... And so we are no more indebted to the flesh to live after the flesh...since the Holy Spirit is quickening our mortal bodies already presented in total submission to Him...

The believer must therefore seek to understand what it takes to be totally yielded. We must deal with that cockiness that makes us think God must always do our bidding or that we can do as we like while God manages whatever waste we produce and leave behind us in 'love'.

This is a new year, and as usual people are making resolutions and casting visions out of their utmost desires and hope. Meanwhile in all these God hardly had a say as we seek  Him in fasting and praying that He does what we want when we hadn't asked Him what He want neither ready to do whatever He wants.

We must be clear about this, that we can't effect necessary positive changes in our lives without seeking to submit totally to God. We can't achieve what God desires except we desire and seek Him for what He wants and them pursue that.

Let's seek a relationship with the Holy Spirit whereby we give Him the room to do all that God has given Him to us to do...

If we yield... He won't disappoint!

As we make new year resolutions we need to factor God into our hopes.... Without Him at the driver's seat whatever resolution remains as fickle as they'd always been... They'll fizzle away only for us to start afresh with other wishes this time next year....
