In Good Company!

In Good Company!

Tough times aren't meant to destroy us. They are meant to help us. They aren't primarily of divine judgments. They are tools in God's hands to move us forward.

Speaking at a youth church yesterday on following God's plan for our lives, it was clear that avoiding tough times in the quest to obey God's plans and purposes is absolutely impossible.

No singular person in scriptures who fulfilled God's plan did so without going through some tough times. And for all, it took them looking beyond the situation into what God has planned and promised to go beyond.

Look at Abraham, God's plan was for him to be the father of nations. But ironically, he had a wife that was barren, the very wife that was in the plan. Trying to take a short cut through another wife didn't do the trick, until his faith gained stability, and was able to look steadily beyond his dead body and the deadness of Sarah's womb and to hope against hopelessness to receive his son in a figure, giving glory to God until the arrival of the child.

What of Isaac, who had to contend over and over to get stability at Rehoboth.

What of Jacob, who had to leave home without an inheritance but only with a staff. He had to use a stone for a pillow. But in that trouble he met God in his dream and made a vow unto God.
He served as a hireling at his uncle's farm for 20years, serving for his wives and for his master's livestock. And for 10 times his wages was reviewed downwards as he served with a shrewd master.

What of Moses? Who had to run out of a place in the palace because of his people with a sence of a deliverer rejected of his own people? He must have thought being zealous for God's people God would rush to deliver him. He was wrong. God made him serve 40 years keeping his in law's sheep in the wilderness.

We shouldn't forget Joseph, who was sold of his own brothers in order to go-ahead to Egypt, and was lied against and sent to prison so that he could get up close to the King and to his destiny?

We can go on and on from one bible character to the other. How they, through hardship and trouble got into God's plan for their lives and fulfilled the purposes of God for their lives through faith.

David, though anointed and as one who delivered Israel by killing Goliath, had to roam in the wilderness for years with an army of debtors, distressed and discontented people and was there for many years having to struggle to feed before he became king....

The only thing we need do as we walk in faith, looking beyond the trouble of the present time is to maintain our spiritual stability and commitment to God in faithfulness and integrity.

Our faith must come with integrity, virtue, commitment and every good attribute that are in Christ. We must not compromise otherwise it will take a longer time.

If Joseph had slept with his master's wife, he wouldn't have gone to prison but remained in Portiphar's house as chief of staff without knowing that he had missed his original position!

The pressure is much but as good soldiers of the Lord we must endure hardness. We must through patience inherit our promise...

The night is far spent, the breaking of day is nearby. This isn't the time to give up or draw back but a time to go on to the saving of soul....

It may be tough now...but the grace of God is sufficient for us...and in our weaknesses, God's strength shall be made perfect!

Ride on the Spirit's Winds

Ride on the Spirit's Winds

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again. The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh from, and wither it goest: so is everyone that is born of the Spirit. John 3:6-8

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knewth Him not. 1John 3:1

The born again phenomenon is far beyond what we can fully know or think. The one born again of the Spirit of God is unpredictable even by himself or herself.

When that unpredictability is removed one way or the other, the essence of being born of the Spirit is defeated.

What God has prepared for the one born of His Spirit is beyond what eyes have seen, what ears have heard or whatever has entered into the mind of man earlier.

The only one who knows what next is the Holy Spirit, the pressure that dictates the direction of the carrying wind!

We hear the sound of the wind, where it's coming from or where it's heading aren't easily predictable to the one in the wind or to those watching....the direction per time is dictated by the unseen pressure gradient that is hard to influence...so is the child of God.

In so doing God accomplishes His will in His child, through him or her and for him or her.

The problem we have however is that we love to be predictable. We want to be seen as consistent. We love to be seen as organised. We love routine and habits. We love to have a pattern. We love to maintain a course, we don't like change and we'd rather not plan for it or expect it. We believe our success is based on our regimen both in the short day or in our long years. Both in the short and in the long term plans.

Yes, worldly success is achieved by this straitjacket system. And so the one born of the Spirit would also want to be strapped if that's what produces results according to those born in the flesh...

In so doing we strap the Spirit also in the straitjacket subjecting both the Spirit and the carrier to the forces of nature to produce the results that only man can hail.

Definitely, the world can't relate with the unpredictable nature of being born and borne of the Spirit. The wisdom in that is too high and too complex to reveal any good outcome of it. Even the one born of the Spirit and borne by Him would need faith to be sure the wind of the Spirit won't just dump him or her in an unknown desert...

When Elijah was raptured, the sons of the prophet went searching, to be sure he hadn't been dumped in one remote area to die of hunger and exhaustion! Such is the fear of riding upon the winds and the wings of the Holy Ghost in destiny.

But we need be sure that underneath are the everlasting arms. When He upholds, we are kept from falling as only Him can keep us from falling. When He carries, no one can pluck us from His hands...Jesus lost none of all that the Father gave to Him except Judas, the son of perdition. We are God's sons, and not sons of perdition and so nothing should cast the fear of being lost in us...

If only we can let go and let God: Casting out the fear of falling by the love God has for us, with the assurance that He's never weary to allow us fall or fail...we can ride and enjoy the ride...with the breeze blowing us in the wind till He power us to the place He had before prepared for us...

If we quench the Spirit for the fear of crashlanding, we'll remain grounded, predictable and in the long run uninspiring and unfulfilled!

The Holy Spirit-craft is ever ready since we got born again to carry us on the ride of destiny and if we can stop the regimen that stops us and without the fear of what ignorant men would say, throw off the straitjacket, stretch our arms so that the Holy Spirit can carry us on the ride...we'll be shocked as much as those watching, how it'll produce in us that which the eyes have never seen, nor ear heard or hasn't entered into human imagination, of things which God has before provided that we walk in them....

I commend you therefore unto the Spirit of the living God, praying that He'll stretch His wings to carry you to places beyond your imagination as you totally yield to His winds from within in Jesus name!

God at Work in us

God at Work in us

[My Offline Bible] Genesis  49
1 And Jacob called unto his sons, and said, Gather yourselves together, that I may tell you that which shall befall you in the last days.

Our desire to know what will befall us in the last days gives sleepless nights to many and make victims of many in the hands of spiritual charlatans.

But God had left us enough witnesses to know what to expect and how to organize ourselves for what He planned our future to be.

Learning from the Word of God, we discover the pattern and process of what to expect while the genuine prophetic ministry will give a glimpse of the coordinates. It takes practical experience to know exactly how the plan works out.

What about the process?
God has a plan for everyone. He has a plan to give us an expected end and He is working towards that.

He is the potter and He wants us to be the submissive clay so that He can make of us glorious vessels no matter how many times we get marred in His hand on His potter's wheel. Jeremiah 18:1-6

The first thing therefore is to give our lives totally to Jesus. I'm not just talking about going to church, following a minister of God, attending programs and getting into some religious frenzies but an active mental and spiritual submission and total yieldedness to God through faith and patience!

I am not talking about yieldedness to a man, to a system or to an organization in the name of religion but a self assurance of a primary commitment and yieldedness to Christ, ready to obey Him before obeying a person and before pleasing self; ready to lay down all for Him, ready to die for the cause of Christ in all sincerity of purpose! Matthew 16:24&25

[My Offline Bible] Romans 6
16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

God designed it that we will submit to Him totally and give Him the permission to work in us and so produce His desires in us.

He desires to work in us both to will and to do that which is well pleasing in His sight and in so doing work out our salvation with fear and trembling! Philippians 2:13&13

With Him, all things work together for our good who love Him. Loving Him means total submission to His purpose. Romans 8:28

When we allow Him work, He works only according to the counsel of His will and not according to the counsel of man either friends, friendly or enemies.

Only His will counsels Him as to what He uses the exceeding greatness of His power to accomplish in us.

[My Offline Bible] Ephesians 1
11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

If we would follow Him He will make us who 'His will' wants us to be. Jesus told His disciples, follow me and I will make you fishers of men and so they follwed and became fishers of men...He will make us as we follow Him... Matthew 4:19

We are God's workmanship, He is at works till now to make our ends the best possible. Ephesians 2:8-10

We aren't the workmanship of ourselves beyond laboring with the grace He has given us in obedience. 1Corinthians 15:10

We aren't the workmanship of another person, either enemy or friend as some would expect, except we have submitted to them and not to God or are following them without following Christ.

We are God's workmanship as He works in us with His exceeding greatness of power to produce what eyes have not seen, nor ear heard neither had entered into the minds of men of what He has prepared for us from the foundation of the world. 1Corinthians 2:9-11, Ephesians 3:20

We may struggle, others too may struggle and labor over us to produce something of us. Friends and friendly people will labor over us to produce something they feel should be good for us. Enemies too will try their best in words and in deeds to produce evil things in us but when we are fully yielded to God, He works out His own will without listening to contrary counsels either from friends or foes except those in line with His will which is to bring us to a sure and secure future with a meaning!

A good end is sure for us in God if we stick to Him through the thick and the thin; if we would follow Him and Him alone, fully yielding to His Spirit and workings within us. Jeremiah 29:11

If we would walk in confidence, faith and patience in God and in His workings without the fear of men and situations, we won't fail to see all things working for our good and producing a great end for us. When patience has finally perfected its work, it'll make us perfect, entire wanting nothing....James 1:4

It may not at all make any sense right now but we must do that one thing needful; yielding ourselves to God totally as a piece of clay would to a potter...and letting Him work His expertise in us which will produce nothing but His will and good pleasure in our lives. His good pleasure is what will eventually befall us at the end as we follow Him...

I pray that God will perfect us unto every good work to do His will, working in us that which is well pleasing in His sight in Jesus name...

Good morning!

Revisiting Vision: Disciples, and not Organizations

Revisiting Vision: Disciples, and not Organizations

And Jesus came and spike to them saying, All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen Mathew 28:18-20

[My Offline Bible] 1 Corinthians  3
10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. 11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. 12 Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; 13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. 14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. 15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.
Following the present trend in Christian ministry one may find it hard to know exactly what Christ commanded the church to do.

It is difficult to know if what we are sent to is to build organizations or build people. It is easier to see multinational empires built from the apparatus of Christ's command than see people within the system truly observing what Christ has taught.

It seems teaching the nations to observe all Christ taught and did has become secondary to making the church organization world class and making names and money out of it.

When we say we are doing ministry and getting results, the latter is what we speak of.

But my concerns as the Lord impressed these thoughts in my mind in the last few weeks is that of our works being tested by fire. According to 1Corinthians 3. If what many do today in the name of ministry is taken through fire for testing will it remain?

Will the empires, both small and great we are building in the name of ministry withstand the test of fire and not be burned?

Can the message we preach and the people we produce withstand the test of fire and not be burnt?

How close to the standard of Christ's expectations of ministry are we producing in the name of results? In the light of the scripture passage above, what will the results of our efforts be?

Are we making disciples for Christ or are we building organizations and self aggrandizing systems. What is your vision like.

We shouldn't forget that whatever we define ministry success to be will draw our most attention, determine attitude, justify our efforts, command our expenditures and  determine our expectations. We see nothing outside what we see success to be.

So if we miss it at the point of success definition, we miss the way ab initio, and every other thing can only be means to the end of what success means to us.

The closer we are to making disciples for Christ and getting people given us to be conformed to Christ's image in character and in charisma, the closer we are to building on the foundation of Christ with the indestructible gold quality. When that goes through fire, it comes out shining even the more...unlike the stubble, hay and wood that'll perish in the fire....

That we are privileged with great or small crowd in our ministry isn't success yet, those people aren't raw materials to building an empire but are entities that we shall give account for...each is a potential disciple of Christ, each has the capacity to come out like Christ in everything and to stand perfect and complete in all the will of God...depending on the ministry mentality of success we provide and pursue...

I pray that we will build upon the foundation of Christ already laid the gold quality that no fire can destroy and our reward shall not be denied in Jesus name!

The Place of the Written Word

Reconsidering the Place of the Written Word!

[My Offline Bible] 2 Timothy 3
16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

[My Offline Bible] 2 Corinthians 11
3 But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.

I fear!
Why?
The message of Christ is being made ambiguous by not giving the scriptures the authority it should have and we seem to be bearing with errors!

We are blessed by scriptures so that we to whom the end of the world have come might be guided. 1Corinthians 10:11

I wonder why God gave us scriptures since He was sending us the Holy Spirit anyway.

Today, we practice all sorts and do all sorts 'being led by the Spirit' under some prophetic license which things are done obviously for other ulterior motives...

If the scriptures lose their place in our devotion another religion will arise out of our faith to ravage Christianity.

The falling away coming before the revelation of the man of sin will still leave the fallouts  sitting in church pews and preaching in the pulpits... 2Thessalonians 2:3

And that antiChrist spirit is already here. Jesus the word is come in the flesh and not just a thing of the unseen spirit. 1John 4:3

We need to be careful how we leave the scriptures to follow after some spirits. Not every spirit is of God o. The Holy Spirit who also is the author of the Word knows the importance of the written word and uses it to confirm His operations among many other spirits who don't call Jesus Lord in their operations but have a show of godliness. 1John 4:1-2, 1Corinthians 12:1-3

We shouldn't forget that those who received the Holy Spirit at the first knew also that no scripture is of any private interpretation.... 2Peter 1:19-21
They knew also that these scriptures are given for doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction so that the true man of God maybe throughly equipped and prepared unto every good work....
So how do we speak as if the scriptures are being made to  be overbearing and usurping position?

This mentality will undermine divine instruction, erode sound doctrine, will incapacitate reproof of errors and produce rebellion to divine correction...just literally removing what the scriptures were sent to do...

I'm sure this is the reason why the teaching ministry is being fought to be captured and caged. Instead so many people who have no business in the prophetic ministry are being enlisted like the priests of Jeroboam to fight the doctrines of scriptures and establish strange fires...many preaching the doctrines of demons with the spirits of divination working with them confirming their words with signs following. Yet we are loving it so... Acts 16:16

Peter was with Christ on the mount of transfiguration saw and heard things yet came out speaking of a more sure word of prophecy, he was the leader of the pack who saw the resurrection and the ascension and received first hand the fire literally seen upon each of them and the baptism of the Holy Spirit and if these people won't sideline the scriptures for the Holy Spirit, then we who their words, inspired by the Holy Spirit, have taught, who may not have experienced the Holy Spirit as they and may never be privileged to, shouldn't prove to know the place of the Holy Spirit in relation to the scriptures more than they!

When we deviate from those ancient pathways and now pretend as if we know more than they we tread dangerous paths....

Let's be careful, let's proof every spirit, not all spirits are of God. 1Thessalonians 5:19-22

The devil is no match for God, the challenges we face are common to man. Even those who promise and minister such grope with their own challenges. The problem is that our unwillingness to bear and endure hardships have made preys of many to ravening wolves in sheep's clothings. 1Corinthians 10:13&14, 2Timothy 2:3

The devil can't bind you outside using your comfort as bait. So comfort is presented and endurance discouraged, patience has no place just like the old strategy he used against Jesus at His temptations in the wilderness...the only difference is that we had left out scriptures to counter him... 2Peter 2:19, Mathew 4:3-11

God has ways of escape to every temptation for the faithful but first to be able to bear it so says the scriptures but we have been told patience isn't necessary and bearing isn't an answer and so the wolves ravage on...1Corinthians 10:13

I humbly implore all who have the heart of seeing the glory of God in the church without wrinkles and spots, all who would be willing to see the presentation of every child of God perfect to consider again the goings on in the body and let's see where we are missing it and return unto God. Ephesians 5:26&27, Colossians 1:28&29

Not to popularise self or build a ministry but for the sake of the Holy Kingdom God has put in our care and the people bought by His precious blood.

Good Morning!

Curing our asking

Curing our Asking

[My Offline Bible] 1 Kings 3
10 And the speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing. 11 And God said unto him, Because thou hast asked this thing, and hast not asked for thyself long life; neither hast asked riches for thyself, nor hast asked the life of thine enemies; but hast asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment; 12 Behold, I have done according to thy words: lo, I have given thee a wise and an understanding heart; so that there was none like thee before thee, neither after thee shall any arise like unto thee. 13 And I have also given thee that which thou hast not asked, both riches, and honour: so that there shall not be any among the kings like unto thee all thy days.

In the studies of prayer, the mode of asking is seriously important. Jesus pointed out to us clearly how prayer is all about asking that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
We also learn from the 1st epistle of Apostle John 5:14&14 that our asking should be in line with the will of God.

James 4:1-3 teaches that asking must not be selfish, it must not be to encourage our lusts and covetousness.

And I'm sure God is serious about that.

Solomon's prayer though offered in an unusual place drew God's attention. God asked him to ask whatever He wanted.  The blank check is also what we have in Christ if only we wouldn't go into the place of prayer with unforgiveness in our hearts. Mark 11:24&25

Solomon had asked God for things pertaining to the kingdom and how to be all God wanted him to be as a king of God's unusual people to deal with.

That excited God. Was it because God didn't know he was going to ask that? I'm sure God knew but he wanted that documented for us who shall come afterwards.

God commended him, and rewarded him by giving him what he didn't ask for.

God narrated the things he had refused to ask for. He didn't ask for long life: he would have thought of that so as to long enjoy the throne of his father. God gave him with conditions.

He didn't ask for riches. That was important because a king who is poor would hardly command anyone's respect. With riches and wealth, you don't need much in character to be respected by the most base of men. God gave this to him without measure!

He didn't ask for the lives of his enemies. A wicked enemy is enough to do much evil and destroy many lives. It should be nice to take them out first before they can think of any enterprise. But that too he didn't ask for. God gave him no promise but rather shut the enemies up all the days of his reign.

These are things ordinary people will ask for and would be justified in self. And that has become the errors of our day.

Well, didn't God give us a blank check too? Yes, with the blank check He still searches the thoughts and the intents of our hearts as we ask.

Why do we keep asking with many not having any resemblance of result? Isn't God faithful anymore?
He remains faithful, but only that we need a cure for our asking.

Many asking these days come from evil and ungodly intents that have no respect for either the kingdom or the people of God. Our demands wouldn't care if others perish while we succeed and take over their estates.

We won't mind God killing people just because they don't fit into our preferred mode, to many all who offend them should die the death....

Yet we wonder why even the most justified of our prayer points prayed with all manners of fasting, self abatement and demeaning abasement don't move God.

The heart of bitterness, anger, vengeance and competition with evil desires for other creatures of God no matter how we justify such would never produce the same kind of result Solomon's prayer produced rather we risk God's own judgments, for the price of forgiveness is forgiveness and the price of mercy is mercy.

We need a cure for our asking to get our prayers right and answerable. We need a less rancorous, a more loving, more godlike, more focus and life's purpose-driven heart at the place of prayer to get God moving again in the miraculous without much stress!

I'm sure asking God for what He wants for us for the same reasons why He wants such for us won't demand having to force Him to make them happen at His time!

I'm sure we'll all be better off asking God for what would make us please God than trying to make God do our bidding on those who offend us, who may not have offended God except if we see nothing in usurping God's position when we can't even heal a fly talk less of creating one like Him!

I hardly care about what God does to my enemies if  they don't repent, but I care much about what God does to me and His people in His good pleasure so I work my asking to suit the latter and less of the former!

I'm sure we have a lot to learn from Solomon's attitude here and I'm sure also that when we learn it, our blank check will produce much more from God than dealing with our enemies without anything positive happening in our lives and in His kingdom....

Life is more than Food

Life is Better than Food

The life is more than meat, and the body than raiment. -Jesus Christ Luke 12:23

The course that many follow in life is such that had already defined a reason for living.

The general predominant focus is to be self sustainable and less dependent when it comes to sustainability.

In our present day, affordability has become what everyone lives for. We grow our children to be independent and to be able to feed, cloth and cater for themselves and to afford all sorts of toys and luxuries as they grow up.

Some will even go further to pursue significance bordering on recognition, popularity and influence but that too soon gets a clog at the wheel if it doesn't come with financial affluence.

Now I've mentioned it! Financial affluence!

To many that's all life is about. It does not matter how it comes, it is what commands affordability and freedom and ordinarily you cannot fault that...

Ordinarily you cannot fault that until you heard Jesus saying life is more than food and the body is more than raiment!

Life is sure more than appetites that sustains it and the body more than what covers it, raiment, housing, and is societal acceptability.

Jesus said somewhere else, that a person's life doesn't consist in the abundance of his possessions.

Meanwhile, these are what the majority of us believe life means.

And if we say we have problems, this possessive mentality is what serves as steward to present our minds with that sense of trouble.

The meaning of life is defined to the majority by what we have. And that keeps us on the run to nowhere!

When apostle Paul said we should be content with having food and raiment instead of pursuing being rich and if we'll add godliness to that, we make great gain, many would have none of such 'crap' because it's practically impossible! 1Tim 6:6-12

But what we need to understand from what Jesus and His apostle said is that everything including food and raiment falls into the responsibility of godliness!

Because what we do in the body, the business and other activities we engage in physically to sustain us would only profit little, meanwhile godliness has a promise of this life that now is and that which is to come....1Timothy 4:8

Godliness is therefore a good bargain. Jesus said seek the kingdom and His righteousness and those things including food and raiment will be added....Matthew 6:33

When we disobey this rule, we replace contentment with dissatisfaction, covetousness and greed set in and the root of evil is established to produce trouble as its fruit. 1Timothy 6:9&10

Dissatisfaction breeds anxiety and anxiety breeds unhappiness and depression, depression can become a deadly issue!

Jesus said, take no thoughts for what to eat and to drink....

It means dissatisfaction affects our mental state. Yet, dissatisfaction is an illusion. Anyone can be content with whatever he or she has otherwise the poor shouldn't have any chance of ever being happy! But look around, you'll see many many poorer but happier people than you!

Dissatisfaction isn't about what you don't have, even the richest men in the world may still not be satisfied or be content with what they have...if you can't be content with having food and raiment (which you shouldn't even worry about) having the whole world won't satisfy you!

So Jesus said, life is better than food and that's a lesson to learn. If you don't have food and you have life, the One who gave you life and made life dependent on food should be responsible.

If you don't have clothes but you have a body, the One who gave you the body and so created the need for clothing should be responsible.

And He is ever responsible and faithful even in providing much more than food and raiment!

If we'll pursue godliness instead of pursuing what we know nothing about, He will lead us by Himself to the stores where He kept what we would eat, drink and cloth our bodies with and it'll be better than all the troubles we get ourselves into trying to seek what we haven't kept!

Good morning!

The day has come with its benefits and our daily allocations and we shall not miss them in Jesus name!
